UtahValleyLive.com broadcasts –live–local events, news, talk shows, and more. UVL also provides links to other live streams originating in Utah Valley as well as Traffic Cams, scenery cams, and other good stuff.

One of our goals at Utah Valley Live is to encourage people, clubs, municipalities, organizations, etc., in our local area to take advantage of available technology to stream their own live broadcasts. You can broadcast your own show if you want to and it is of interest to Utah Valley (and is legal, moral, ethical and LIVE), we might even carry your feed here. Eventually we want our UtahValleyLive.com audience to be able to choose from dozens of live feeds from Utah Valley during any given week.

Broadcasting live is easy and typically FREE. Most smart phones can broadcast live with the appropriate free app from Ustream.tv, Livestream.com, Justin.tv (or other streaming platforms). Webcams, whether built in on a laptop or external with a desktop are perhaps the most common method of streaming live video. Many older Mini-dv cams can connect to a computer via a firewire cable and can be used to broadcast live with better picture quality than a webcam or smart phone. Millions of people broadcast live to an audience of hundreds or more (very rare) or to 0-2 people (very common). It’s not that people aren’t interested in viewing the broadcast (although content quality is important), more that no one knows about it. We created UtahValleyLive.com to function as an aggregator site, a place where people with a common interest–in this case geographical–could go to find live broadcasts they might want to watch and participate in. That last part is key in that most shows allow comments through the chat window or social stream and the ability for audience members to easily participate in a live show is the big advantage that live streaming has over other forms of broadcasting.

Comments or questions are welcome.
